Overview

The OS Giken SP Single Steel SuperSingle Clutch Kit is a premium single-disc performance clutch and flywheel system for 4A-GE-powered Toyota AE86 applications, including the JDM Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno as well as the U.S.-market Corolla Sport GT-S.

The SuperSingle uses a 215 mm dampened single-plate clutch assembly with a full-face metallic friction disc and matched hardened steel-alloy flywheel. It is designed for factory-power and lightly tuned 4A-GE builds that benefit from quicker response, greater performance capability, and more durable construction than a conventional OE-style clutch while retaining a single-disc configuration.

An OS Giken release sleeve assembly is included, while an OEM-style pilot bearing or bushing is required for installation.

SP Single Steel SuperSingle Design

The SuperSingle combines the straightforward operation of a single-disc clutch with construction and design features derived from OS Giken's higher-performance clutch systems.

Its full-face metallic friction disc provides increased friction capacity, while the diaphragm-spring leverage system allows greater effective clamping force without relying solely on a substantially stiffer diaphragm spring. This helps maintain manageable pedal effort for a performance-oriented clutch.

The integrated ventilation openings help move heat and friction dust away from the clutch assembly, while the hardened steel-alloy flywheel provides a durable matched surface and responsive engine behavior.

For owners who need substantially greater torque capacity for highly modified naturally aspirated, supercharged, turbocharged, or competition builds, an OS Giken twin-plate clutch such as the TS2A or TS2B is the more appropriate step up.
