Overview

This Preserve Rad Original center / middle A/C vent is an OEM-style replacement for the factory center dash vent used in 1984–1989 1st Gen Toyota 4Runners and 1984–1988 2nd Gen Toyota Pickups. The vent is 3D-printed from durable ABS plastic and retains the factory-style directional louvers and center-dash placement.

Two dash configurations were used across these applications. The 1984–1986 option fits the early / long-pocket dash, while the 1987–1989 option fits the late / short-pocket dash. If the dashboard has ever been replaced or swapped, use the installed dash pocket style as the final fitment check.

Early vs. Late Dash Styles

• Used with the short storage pocket positioned above the center vents

If the dashboard has been replaced or swapped, select the vent according to the installed pocket style rather than the vehicle model year alone.

Fitment Notes

• 1984–1986 variant: early / long-pocket dash style
• 1987–1989 variant: late / short-pocket dash style
• For 1987–1989 variants, Pickup fitment ends at 1988.

• Aftermarket dash caps must be removed before installation.

Completing the Dashboard Vent Restoration

If the center vent is the only damaged piece, it can be replaced on its own while retaining the original corner vents. For dashboards with multiple cracked, loose, or faded vents, the Complete A/C Vent Set replaces the center and both corner vents together so the visible vent assemblies match in style and finish. The Driver Side A/C Vent and Passenger A/C Vent are also available individually when only one corner vent needs replacement. These are optional restoration choices and are not required for installation of the center vent.
