The ACT HDG4 Heavy Duty Sprung 4-Pad Clutch Kit combines a heavy-duty pressure plate with a sprung 4-pad ceramic race disc for significantly increased torque capacity, heat tolerance, and rapid engagement.
The sprung hub helps absorb drivetrain shock and torsional vibration while retaining the aggressive engagement characteristics of a ceramic 4-pad disc. This configuration is intended for performance, off-road, competition, and other demanding applications where increased holding capacity takes priority over factory-like clutch engagement.

Sprung 4-Pad Ceramic Design
The 4-pad ceramic disc provides faster and more aggressive engagement than a full-face organic Performance Street clutch. Ceramic friction material offers increased heat tolerance and holding capacity, making this configuration better suited to demanding use where rapid engagement and higher torque capacity are priorities.
The sprung center section provides additional drivetrain damping compared with a rigid race disc. Engagement remains considerably more aggressive than an OE-style or organic performance clutch, making the HDG4 best suited to customers who prioritize performance over factory-like smoothness.
HDG4 vs. HDSS
Choose the HDG4 when your build needs a ceramic race clutch and you accept abrupt takeup and possible gear rattle.
Choose the HDSS when smooth launches, daily driving, and progressive clutch control matter more. The HDG4’s sprung hub helps damp vibration, but it does not make the ceramic disc behave like the HDSS organic street disc.
