Overview

The ACT HDSS Heavy Duty Performance Street Clutch Kit combines a heavy-duty pressure plate with a sprung, full-face organic performance street disc. The design increases clutch holding capacity while retaining smooth, positive engagement and light-to-moderate pedal effort for street-driven and off-road Toyota 4Runners.

Multiple application-specific configurations are available. Choose the configuration by model year and drivetrain, as clutch diameter and fitment vary by application.

HDSS vs. HDG4

Choose the HDSS when smooth launches, daily driving, and progressive clutch control are the priority.

Choose the HDG4 when the build needs a ceramic race clutch and more aggressive engagement. The HDG4 uses a sprung hub to help damp vibration, but its 4-pad ceramic disc engages more abruptly than the HDSS organic street disc.

• Does not fit 22R-TE turbo applications.
• Does not fit 3.0L 3VZ-E V6 applications.
• 1989 4Runner fitment is 4WD only.
• Select the configuration using both model year and drivetrain; 2WD and 4WD applications can require different clutch configurations.
• Organic Performance Street discs require approximately 300–500 miles of mild-engagement break-in before racing or spirited driving.
• Flywheel is not included.
