Overview
The RAYS 17HEX L31 Lug Nut & Lock Set is a hardened-steel wheel hardware kit designed for vehicles using M12 x 1.5 wheel studs and aftermarket wheels with tapered lug-nut seats. The compact 17HEX design provides additional clearance around smaller aftermarket wheel lug openings, while four locking nuts provide one wheel lock per corner.
This black 20-piece set includes 16 standard lug nuts and four locking lug nuts, along with the required lock-key and long socket adapters. The standard lug nuts measure 31 mm in overall length and are manufactured from SWCH10R steel.
For Toyota AE86 and first-generation MR2 AW11 applications, both vehicles use a four-lug configuration. Installation uses 12 standard lug nuts and four locking nuts, leaving four standard lug nuts as convenient spares.

4-Lug AE86 & MR2 AW11 Configuration
This RAYS set contains 20 wheel nuts because it is packaged as a five-hole wheel set. Both the Toyota AE86 and MR2 AW11 use four wheel studs per wheel and therefore require 16 installed wheel nuts.
Using one locking nut at each wheel requires:
- 12 standard RAYS lug nuts
- 4 RAYS locking lug nuts
- 4 remaining standard lug nuts kept as spares
The additional standard nuts do not affect installation. Fitment is determined by the M12 x 1.5 stud thread, tapered wheel-seat design, and available lug-hole clearance of the aftermarket wheel.

Fitment Notes
- For M12 x 1.5 wheel studs only

- Verify the aftermarket wheel manufacturer's required lug-seat design before installation
- Verify adequate clearance for the 17HEX nut and supplied adapter inside the wheel's lug openings
- AE86 and AW11 applications require 16 installed wheel nuts
- Using one lock per wheel leaves four standard lug nuts from this 20-piece set as spares
- Not intended as a universal replacement for factory Toyota wheel nuts when the original wheel requires a different seat design
- Wheel spacers or extended wheel studs can change minimum thread-engagement requirements and should be checked separately
