Overview

The Project Kics Kyokugen Heptagon Lug Nut Set is a forged chromoly-steel wheel-hardware upgrade for Toyota Corolla AE86 applications—including the U.S.-market Corolla Sport SR5 and GT-S, JDM Trueno and Levin—and Toyota MR2 AW11 (MK1) models using M12 x 1.5 wheel studs and aftermarket wheels with 60° conical lug seats.

Each nut uses Project Kics' seven-sided heptagon profile and requires the supplied matching adapter for installation and removal. The 42 mm closed-end design covers the end of the wheel stud while providing an extended tuner-style profile.

The set contains 20 lug nuts plus the dedicated heptagon adapter. Corolla AE86 and MR2 AW11 applications use four-lug wheel configurations requiring 16 lug nuts per vehicle, leaving four spare nuts.

Heptagon Design & Wheel Compatibility

The Kyokugen design replaces a conventional six-sided hex profile with a seven-sided heptagon shape. A normal hex socket cannot properly engage the nut, so the supplied Project Kics adapter is required for installation and removal.

The heptagon profile adds a level of removal deterrence compared with conventional hex lug nuts, although it should not be considered a dedicated locking-lug system.

Wheel-seat design is critical. These lug nuts use a 60° conical seat and are intended for aftermarket wheels designed for tapered-seat lug hardware. Matching the M12 x 1.5 thread alone does not guarantee proper wheel compatibility.

Fitment Notes

• For aftermarket wheels using a 60° conical / tapered lug seat only.
• Do not use with factory wheels that require a different lug-seat design.
• Does not fit wheels requiring inverted, reverse-style, ball-seat, flat-seat, or other non-60° conical lug hardware.
• Corolla AE86 SR5, GT-S, Trueno, and Levin applications use a 4x114.3 wheel bolt pattern and require 16 lug nuts per vehicle.
• MR2 AW11 applications use a 4x100 wheel bolt pattern and require 16 lug nuts per vehicle.
• Wheel bolt pattern does not determine lug-nut thread compatibility; the listed Corolla AE86 and MR2 AW11 applications use M12 x 1.5 wheel studs.
• The 20-piece set provides four spare lug nuts when installed on a standard four-lug Corolla AE86 or MR2 AW11.
• Verify adequate internal clearance when using extended wheel studs. The stud must not bottom out inside the closed-end lug nut before the wheel is properly clamped.
• Confirm the aftermarket wheel manufacturer's required lug-seat profile before installation.
• Follow the wheel or vehicle manufacturer's specified tightening procedure and torque specification.
