Overview

The Project Mu B-Force Rear Brake Pads are a street-performance upgrade for Toyota AE86 models equipped with the factory-style rear disc brake system. The B-Force compound provides stronger initial braking response and improved fade resistance compared with a typical standard replacement pad while remaining suitable for regular street use.

The super graphite metallic friction material delivers predictable braking for daily driving, spirited street use, and performance-oriented AE86 builds.

These pads are specifically for rear disc brake applications. North American Corolla Sport SR5 models use rear drum brakes from the factory and require brake shoes rather than these rear disc brake pads.

B-Force Street-Performance Compound

The B-Force compound is designed for performance street driving where stronger initial braking response and improved fade resistance are desired without moving to a dedicated high-temperature track pad.

Its Super Graphite Metallic friction material operates across a 0–500°C rotor-temperature range with a 0.32–0.45μ friction coefficient. Because the operating range begins at 0°C, B-Force provides usable braking response from cold while offering additional thermal capacity for spirited driving, canyon roads, autocross, and occasional light track use.

Compared with the more street-oriented TYPE NS, B-Force emphasizes stronger initial bite and increased heat capacity while remaining suitable for regularly driven AE86s. It is the performance-street step in the Project Mu rear brake pad lineup before moving to the more aggressive TYPE HC+, HC M1, and Club Racer RC09 compounds.

TYPE NS is the street-focused choice for regularly driven AE86s where cold response, reduced dust, and reduced noise are priorities.

B-Force is the next step for a harder-driven street car. Its 0–500°C range adds thermal capacity for canyon driving, autocross, and occasional light track use without requiring elevated brake temperature before working effectively.

TYPE HC+ substantially increases friction capability while retaining a 0°C lower operating threshold, making it a strong aggressive-street and track-day crossover.

HC M1 provides a more refined high-performance character with linear pedal control, high-temperature stability, and a 50–800°C working range.

Club Racer RC09 is the dedicated circuit option. Its 300°C minimum operating temperature makes it substantially less suitable for normal cold street use.
