It is intended for brake pad replacement, restoration, or routine service when the original installation hardware is worn, corroded, fatigued, damaged, or missing.

Toyota used multiple front brake configurations across this year range. Early applications are separated by year and truck class, while 1989–1995 Pickups require identification of the installed front caliper casting. Both 17S/F17S and F-18Q systems were used during overlapping model years, so year alone does not determine the correct later hardware kit.

For 1989–1995 Toyota Pickup 2WD applications, inspect the casting identification on the installed front caliper before ordering.

17S / F17S Caliper

• Look for 17S or F17S cast into the caliper body.
• Uses the smaller front brake configuration.

F-18Q / F18Q Caliper

• Look for F18Q cast into the caliper body.
• Uses the larger front brake configuration.

Do not select the 1989–1995 hardware kit from model year alone. Verify the actual caliper installed on the truck, especially on vehicles with an unknown brake-service history.
