Overview

The CUSCO D1 7-Point Chromoly Roll Cage is a vehicle-specific chassis reinforcement system for left-hand-drive Toyota Corolla AE86 applications. Its 7-point, 2-passenger layout uses an around-dashboard front design with straight rear side bars and a diagonal bar for increased chassis reinforcement without using a through-dashboard configuration.

The D1 series uses 40 mm OD chromoly tubing with a 1.6 mm wall thickness and CUSCO Blue Metallic finish. CUSCO's chromoly construction is approximately 33% lighter than comparable steel roll-cage tubing, helping reduce cage weight while retaining a rigid multi-point structure. Separate SunRoof and Non-SunRoof configurations are offered to match the vehicle's factory roof design.

Material & Construction

The D1 cage is constructed from chromoly tubing measuring 40 mm in outside diameter with a 1.6 mm wall thickness. Lightweight joints and strategically positioned mounting points are used to increase body rigidity while keeping the cage lighter than comparable steel construction.

The 7-point layout combines front and rear cage sections with a diagonal bar. The front bars use an around-dashboard / dash-escape layout, while the rear section uses straight side bars and a 2-passenger configuration.
