Overview

The APEXi Hybrid Megaphone Evolution is a SUS304 stainless-steel performance cat-back exhaust system for Toyota AE86 applications. It combines progressively expanding 54 mm to 60 mm piping with APEXi's hybrid silencer design and a 105 mm oval exhaust tip. For the verified U.S.-market GT-S and JDM E-AE86 4A-GE applications, the system is a two-piece cat-back assembly that connects downstream of the factory catalytic converter. SR5 4A-C fitment requires a GT-S-style catalytic converter or GT-S-length test pipe.

The system uses TIG-welded stainless construction throughout the piping, muffler, and tip, with a vehicle-specific bolt-on layout for the verified AE86 applications below.

Hybrid Megaphone Design

The megaphone pipe layout expands from 54 mm to 60 mm rather than maintaining one constant diameter through the system. The hybrid silencer combines internal sound-control elements with the stainless performance piping, while the 105 mm oval outlet gives the system a distinct street-performance appearance.
