The ACT HDG4 Heavy Duty Sprung 4-Pad Race Clutch Kit combines a Heavy Duty pressure plate with a spring-centered ceramic race disc for Toyota Pickup builds that prioritize clutch holding capacity and heat tolerance.

Three configurations cover the listed non-turbo and factory turbo applications. Choose the version matching your engine and production date, especially for 1987 turbo trucks.

This is a race-focused clutch with aggressive engagement. It suits drivers who accept reduced low-speed smoothness in exchange for a more competition-oriented clutch.

HDG4 vs. HDSS

Choose the HDG4 when your build needs a ceramic race clutch and you accept abrupt takeup and possible gear rattle.

Choose the HDSS when smooth launches, daily driving, and progressive clutch control matter more. The HDG4’s sprung hub helps damp vibration, but it does not make the ceramic disc behave like the HDSS organic street disc.

Fitment Notes

• Manual transmission, gasoline 4-cylinder models only.
• Does not fit 3.0L 3VZ-E V6 or diesel applications.
• Both factory turbo configurations cover 2WD and 4WD.
• The turbo kit changes at June 1987 production. Check the build date before ordering for a 1987 truck.
• A turbo conversion on a non-turbo engine does not automatically change its clutch application. Match the installed transmission and flywheel configuration.
• Follow the ceramic race-disc bedding instructions supplied with the kit. The organic HDSS 300–500-mile break-in guidance does not apply to this disc.
