Three configurations cover the listed non-turbo and factory turbo applications. Choose the version matching your engine and production date, especially for 1987 turbo trucks.

This is a race-focused clutch with aggressive engagement. It suits drivers who accept reduced low-speed smoothness in exchange for a more competition-oriented clutch.

HDG4 Sprung 4-Pad Design

The ceramic puck-style disc engages more abruptly than a full-face organic street disc. Its sprung center helps cushion torsional loads, but it does not give the clutch the progressive takeup of an organic design.

For a daily-driven restoration or a truck where smooth clutch modulation is the priority, an EXEDY OE replacement or ACT HDSS is the more appropriate choice. The HDG4 serves a different purpose: race use where holding capacity and heat tolerance take priority over street comfort.

Fitment Notes

• Manual transmission, gasoline 4-cylinder models only.
• Does not fit 3.0L 3VZ-E V6 or diesel applications.
• Both factory turbo configurations cover 2WD and 4WD.
• The turbo kit changes at June 1987 production. Check the build date before ordering for a 1987 truck.
• A turbo conversion on a non-turbo engine does not automatically change its clutch application. Match the installed transmission and flywheel configuration.
• Follow the ceramic race-disc bedding instructions supplied with the kit. The organic HDSS 300–500-mile break-in guidance does not apply to this disc.
