Overview

The NGK V-Power / Iridium IX Spark Plug Set provides two replacement spark-plug options for classic Toyota models powered by the naturally aspirated 1.6L 4A-GE, including the Toyota Corolla Levin, Sprinter Trueno, Corolla Sport GT-S AE86, and Toyota MR2 AW11.

Choose V-Power Nickel for a proven conventional replacement using NGK's V-groove electrode design, or upgrade to Iridium IX for a fine-wire iridium center electrode designed for increased wear resistance and consistent ignitability.

Both configurations use an NGK heat range of 5, M14 x 1.25 thread, 19 mm reach, resistor construction, gasket seat, and a 1.1 mm / 0.044 in. nominal gap. Each configuration includes four spark plugs for a complete 4A-GE engine replacement.

Iridium IX vs. V-Power Nickel

V-Power Nickel

Uses a nickel-alloy center electrode with a copper core and NGK's V-groove design. It is an excellent choice for routine maintenance, restoration, and naturally aspirated street-driven 4A-GE engines.

Iridium IX

Uses a fine-wire iridium center electrode with a tapered-cut ground electrode. The harder iridium material provides increased electrode wear resistance while maintaining strong, consistent spark performance.

Both versions retain the same basic heat range, thread dimensions, reach, resistor construction, and nominal gap for the applications listed below.
