Overview

The CUSCO Adjustable Rear Panhard Rod replaces the factory fixed-length lateral rod on the Toyota AE86 rear suspension. Its adjustable design allows the rear axle to be recentered laterally after lowering or other ride-height changes alter the factory Panhard-rod angle.

A center turnbuckle makes length adjustment straightforward while the rod is installed, and the body-side mount uses a rubber bushing for a more conventional street-oriented connection.

Rear Axle Position Adjustment

Changing AE86 ride height changes the operating angle of the Panhard rod and can move the rear axle laterally relative to the chassis. Before installation, measure the factory lateral rod from mounting-point center to mounting-point center and use that measurement as the starting length for the CUSCO rod.

The rod provides a +15 mm to -10 mm overall adjustment range. CUSCO specifies keeping the final installed setting within ±10 mm of the measured factory rod length.

Fitment Notes

• Rear suspension application.
• Install with the vehicle level and the rear suspension loaded at normal ride height.
• Measure the factory lateral rod before setting the replacement rod length.
• Keep the final installed setting within ±10 mm of the measured factory rod length.
• The factory rear axle-side rubber bushing must be reused or replaced separately with the corresponding OEM bushing.
• Check and re-torque mounting hardware after installation and within the first 1,000 km / approximately 620 miles.
