For 1983–1987 Toyota Corolla AE86, 1984–1989 Toyota MR2 AW11, and 1987–1991 Toyota Corolla AE92 coupe equipped with 4A-GE / 4A-GZE engines and manual-transmission flywheels.

Overview

The ARP 4A-GE / 4A-GZE Flywheel Bolt Kit is a high-strength fastener set for 1983–1987 JDM Toyota Corolla AE86, 1985–1987 U.S.-Market Corolla Sport GT-S, 1984–1989 Toyota MR2 AW11, and 1987–1991 JDM Toyota Corolla AE92 coupes and 1988–1991 U.S.-Market Corolla GT-S AE92 coupe manual-flywheel applications. Factory AE86 fitment is for the 4A-GE; supported MR2 applications use either the naturally aspirated 4A-GE or supercharged 4A-GZE.

Forged from heat-treated 8740 chrome-moly steel, the eight fasteners replace the crankshaft-to-flywheel bolts during clutch service, flywheel replacement, or engine rebuilding. Their low-profile 12-point heads and larger-than-stock shanks provide a strong, precisely registered flywheel connection.

Fitment Notes

• Manual-transmission flywheels only. Does not replace automatic-transmission flexplate bolts.
• Factory AE86 applications require the 4A-GE. The factory 4A-C-powered SR5 flywheel is not covered.
• Factory AE86 models were not equipped with the 4A-GZE; suitability for a swapped 4A-GZE engine depends on its fitted manual flywheel.
• MR2 4A-GZE: JDM Supercharged models began in 1986; U.S.-Market Supercharged models began in 1988.
• Not for AE92 SR5 4A-F / 4A-FE flywheels.
• Specialty aftermarket flywheels can require different bolt specifications.
• Washerless design; flywheel bolt holes require clearance for the larger under-head radius.

For an AE86 4A-GE flywheel upgrade, the AE86 Fidanza Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel is an optional, separately sold 200 mm flywheel option. Specialty aftermarket flywheels may have different fastener requirements.
