Overview

The ARB Old Man Emu Dakar Rear Leaf Spring is a vehicle-specific rear suspension upgrade for classic Toyota 4Runner and Pickup 4WD models. It is designed to provide approximately 2 inches of rear lift while improving spring control, load support, and suspension durability compared with worn factory leaf springs.

The Dakar multi-leaf design uses application-specific spring rates and durable steel construction for daily driving, trail use, hauling, towing, and overland builds. Choose the Medium or Heavy (440 lbs Constant Load) option based on the vehicle's normal permanent rear weight. Springs are available individually or as a pair, with bare-spring and complete installation-bundle choices.

Medium vs. Heavy Constant Load

Medium: Uses a 4 + 2 leaf pack with a 217 / 388 lbf/in spring rate. This option is better suited to lighter or variable-load builds where balanced ride quality and added load support are the priorities.

Heavy (440 lbs Constant Load): Uses a 5 + 2 leaf pack with a 285 / 445 lbf/in spring rate. This option is intended for vehicles carrying substantial permanent rear weight from equipment such as bumpers, tire carriers, storage systems, or overland gear. A lightly loaded vehicle will generally ride firmer with the heavy option.
