AISIN Clutch Master Cylinder
For 1984–1995 Toyota 4Runner with Manual Transmission
Overview
AISIN clutch master cylinders are manufactured to original-equipment hydraulic standards for factory-style fit, function, and durability in Toyota 4Runner clutch systems. Three application-specific configurations cover the manual-transmission clutch hydraulic systems used across the 1984–1995 U.S.-market 4Runner range.
The correct configuration changes by generation and engine family. The early 2.4L applications use one configuration, the 1988–1989 3.0L V6 uses a separate first-generation V6 configuration, and 1990–1995 second-generation 4Runners use the later configuration with either the 2.4L 22RE or 3.0L 3VZ-E V6.
Key Features
- OE-standard hydraulic construction — manufactured for factory-style fit and clutch-hydraulic operation
- 5/8-inch bore — 15.875 mm hydraulic bore
- Precision-honed cylinder bore — supports smooth piston travel and consistent clutch actuation
- Corrosion-resistant cylinder treatment — helps protect the bore and cylinder body during long-term service
- High-heat EPDM seals — designed for durable hydraulic sealing and leak resistance
- Application-specific configurations — separates early 4-cylinder, first-generation V6, and later second-generation applications
Vehicle Fitment
All applications require a factory-style manual clutch hydraulic system.

Fitment Notes
- Match the selected configuration to the vehicle year and engine family shown above.
- 1984–1989 2.4L 4-cylinder models use the early 4-cylinder configuration.
- 1988–1989 3.0L V6 models use the first-generation V6 configuration.
- 1990–1995 2.4L and 3.0L second-generation 4Runners use the same later configuration.
- The 22R-TE turbocharged 4Runner is excluded because U.S.-market turbo 4Runners were not offered with a factory manual transmission.
- For engine- or transmission-swapped vehicles, match the master cylinder to the installed clutch-hydraulic configuration rather than chassis year alone.
- After installation, bleed the clutch hydraulic system completely and inspect the AISIN Clutch Slave Cylinder, hose, and hard line for leakage or deterioration.
