Overview

The TOMEI T-TRAX Advance is a mechanical clutch-type limited slip differential for Toyota Corolla AE86 4A-GE rear-wheel-drive applications using the T-Series rear differential. Separate Zenki / early and Kouki / late versions are available because the early and late AE86 rear axle configurations use different differential specifications.

Each version is available as either a 1.5-way or 2-way LSD. The internal clutch design uses a high initial torque setting, spring discs, and a large friction surface area to provide quick, repeatable locking response during acceleration and performance driving.

Each T-TRAX Advance AE86 kit includes the limited slip differential assembly and 2 liters of TOMEI low-friction high-grade differential oil.

1.5-Way vs. 2-Way

1.5-Way: Provides strong locking under acceleration with reduced locking on deceleration. This configuration is well suited to street-performance, grip, touge, autocross, and mixed-use builds where smoother off-throttle differential behavior is preferred.

2-Way: Provides strong locking during both acceleration and deceleration. This configuration is better suited to drift, circuit, and more aggressive performance driving where consistent lock in both directions is desired.

Fitment Notes

• Does not directly fit the factory North American SR5 S-Series rear axle.
• Zenki / Early and Kouki / Late differential versions are not interchangeable without confirming the installed rear axle configuration.
• The early-to-late differential changeover occurs in October 1985.
• Cars with rear axle swaps must be matched to the actual installed T-Series differential rather than exterior Zenki / Kouki appearance.
• The standard differential application is an open rear differential.
