YEC Distributor Cap

For 1984–1995 Toyota 4Runner equipped with 22R, 22RE or 22R-TE engines and 1980–1995 Toyota Pickup equipped with 20R, 22R, 22RE or 22R-TE engines, each with the matching original distributor.

Overview

This Japan-made YEC distributor cap is a maintenance replacement for 1984–1995 Toyota 4Runner with 22R, 22RE or 22R-TE engines and 1980–1995 Toyota Pickup with 20R, 22R, 22RE or 22R-TE engines. It provides a focused replacement for a worn or damaged cap on the matching original distributor.

Two distributor designs are offered: the earlier non-locking wire-boot cap and the later 22RE cap with engagement features for plastic clip-locking wire boots. The 1993–1995 option is for 22RE only; carbureted and turbocharged engines use the earlier option within their supported model years.

Fitment Notes

• Original distributor configuration matters. Engine swaps and aftermarket or remanufactured replacement distributors are not covered by vehicle year alone.
• Late 22RE distributor change: the earlier cap uses non-locking wire boots; the later cap has molded engagement features for plastic wire-boot locking cages. The change occurred during August 1992 production, so build month alone does not identify the correct cap. Missing or broken locking clips do not identify an earlier distributor.
• Not for 3VZ-E V6 or diesel engines.
