Overview
The Trail-Gear Fully Loaded Six Shooter Knuckle Kit is a heavy-duty front steering knuckle and steering arm upgrade for Toyota-style solid front axle applications. Its six-stud steering arm design adds two mounting studs per arm compared with the factory-style four-stud arrangement, providing additional retention at the knuckle and steering arm connection.
The knuckle housings use thicker-than-stock material with enlarged external gussets for added strength under demanding off-road steering loads. The knuckles and steering arms are precision CNC machined, and both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive configurations are available.
The kit fits factory solid-axle Toyota trucks through 1985 and Toyota Pickup and 4Runner builds through 1995 that have been converted to the appropriate Toyota-style solid front axle.

Six-Stud Steering Arm Design
The Six Shooter design increases the steering arm mounting pattern from four studs to six studs per side. The additional attachment points help keep the steering arms securely clamped to the knuckles under high steering loads and reduce the likelihood of the steering arm loosening or shearing mounting studs.
A six-hole shim system is used between each knuckle and steering arm. The supplied 1/2-inch coarse-thread service bolt can also be used to help lift the steering arm from the knuckle during future servicing.

- Knuckle studs and installation hardware are sold separately
- Factory lower bearing plates and applicable lower shims are reused during assembly
- The supplied shim pack is used between the upper knuckle surface and steering arms
