Overview
The Supertech Valve Spring & Titanium Retainer Kit is a performance valvetrain upgrade for Toyota 4A-GE 16-valve engines used in the AE86 Corolla Levin, Sprinter Trueno and Corolla Sport GT-S, as well as the first-generation Toyota MR2 AW11.
Available in single-spring and dual-spring configurations, this listing allows the spring pressure to be matched to the engine's camshaft, RPM range, and intended use. Both configurations use lightweight titanium retainers and performance valve springs manufactured from Chrome Silicon Vanadium steel.
The single-spring configuration provides 55 lb of seat pressure for milder street and performance combinations, while the dual-spring configuration increases seat pressure to 73 lb and provides substantially higher open pressure for more demanding camshaft and high-RPM 4A-GE builds.

Both configurations use the same titanium retainer design. The primary difference is the valve spring arrangement and resulting spring pressure, not a different single or dual retainer.
Choose the Single Spring Kit when the camshaft and engine combination calls for moderate spring pressure and reduced valvetrain load.
Choose the Dual Spring Kit when additional spring pressure is required for more aggressive camshaft profiles, higher engine speeds, or a more demanding performance engine combination.
Always match spring pressure to the camshaft manufacturer's requirements rather than choosing the highest spring pressure automatically.
