Overview

The Supertech Valve Spring Kit is a complete performance valvetrain upgrade for Toyota 4A-GE DOHC 16-valve cylinder heads. Two spring-pressure configurations are available so the valvetrain can be matched to the camshaft profile, RPM range, and intended engine use.

Both configurations use Chrome Silicon Vanadium steel valve springs with CNC-machined titanium retainers. The single-spring setup provides 55 lb of seat pressure for milder performance combinations, while the dual-spring setup increases seat pressure to 73 lb for more demanding camshaft and high-RPM applications.

Select spring pressure according to the camshaft manufacturer's installed-height and spring-pressure requirements rather than choosing the higher-pressure configuration automatically.

Fitment Notes

• 4A-GE DOHC 16-valve cylinder heads only
• Does not fit AE86 SR5 models with the 4A-C engine
• Does not fit 4A-GE 20-valve cylinder heads
• 4A-GZE supercharged AW11 applications are excluded
• The dual-spring configuration uses the matching smaller-diameter valve-guide seal arrangement supplied for that setup
• Installed spring height, coil-bind clearance, retainer-to-seal clearance, and actual camshaft lift must be verified during engine assembly
• Professional cylinder-head assembly is recommended for modified performance engines
