Overview

Restore a firmer, more consistent rear suspension connection with the Prothane Polyurethane Rear Control Arm Bushing Kit. Designed to replace aging factory rubber control arm bushings, this complete kit reduces unwanted suspension deflection while helping maintain more consistent rear suspension alignment and axle control.

Prothane polyurethane is firmer than conventional rubber, allowing the rear control arms to remain more securely located under acceleration, braking, and cornering loads. This improves suspension response without changing the factory suspension geometry or replacing the original control arms.

One kit services both the left and right sides and includes polyurethane bushings, replacement steel inner sleeves, and Prothane Super Grease for proper installation.

Polyurethane vs. OE Rubber

Factory rubber control arm bushings provide good vibration isolation but gradually soften, crack, and deform with age. As the bushings deteriorate, the control arms can move more than intended under suspension load.

Polyurethane creates a firmer connection between the rear control arms, chassis, and axle, reducing this compliance and improving suspension consistency. The tradeoff is that polyurethane can transmit slightly more noise, vibration, and harshness than fresh OE-style rubber.

Proper lubrication is important with this application. Apply the supplied Prothane Super Grease to the polyurethane bushing surfaces during installation to minimize friction and help prevent squeaking.
