Overview
The Prothane Polyurethane Body Mount Bushing Kit replaces worn factory rubber body-to-frame mounts on 1984–1988 1st Gen Toyota 4Runner 4WD models. The vehicle-specific kit uses polyurethane mounting bushings with matching metal sleeves and washers to restore proper support between the body and frame.
Aging rubber body mounts can compress, crack, and deteriorate over time, allowing additional body movement and reducing the isolation provided at the factory mounting points. Polyurethane offers greater resistance to deterioration from road grime, UV exposure, and age while providing a firmer body-to-frame connection.
Available in black or red polyurethane, both versions use the same durometer and provide the same functional performance.

Polyurethane Body Mount Design
Body mounts isolate and support the vehicle body where it attaches to the frame. As the original rubber deteriorates, the mounts can compress or deform and allow increased movement between the body and chassis.
Prothane polyurethane provides a firmer and more durable replacement while maintaining the resilience required for a body-mount application. Unlike polyurethane suspension pivot bushings, these body mounts primarily operate under compression and do not require the installation grease used on rotating suspension bushings.
