The Prothane Polyurethane Front Control Arm Bushing Kit replaces worn factory rubber bushings in the front upper and lower control arms of 1986–1995 Toyota 4Runner 4WD models. The firmer polyurethane construction helps reduce unwanted control-arm movement and maintain more consistent suspension geometry, steering response, and alignment.

Toyota used two different front control-arm bushing configurations across this year range, so the correct kit must be selected by model year: 1986–1988 or 1989–1995.

Polyurethane Control Arm Design

Factory rubber control-arm bushings soften and deteriorate with age, allowing additional control-arm movement under suspension load. Polyurethane provides a firmer pivot point that helps the front suspension maintain more consistent alignment geometry while still allowing normal control-arm articulation.

Apply the supplied polyurethane grease to the specified bushing contact surfaces during installation to minimize friction and help prevent squeaking.
