KYB Stock Ride Height Front Shock Absorber

For 1979–1995 Toyota Pickup 2WD with stock-height front suspension

Overview

Choose the KYB front shock that best matches how you want your Toyota Pickup to drive. Excel-G uses a nitrogen gas-charged twin-tube design for factory-style ride comfort and control, while Gas-a-Just uses a high-pressure monotube design for firmer response and added stability.

Toyota Pickup 2WD front-shock dimensions changed after 1983. Select the correct Vehicle Year option before choosing ride preference and quantity; the 1979–1983 and 1984–1995 versions are application-specific and are not interchangeable.

Key Features

  • Two ride preferences: factory-style Excel-G comfort or firmer Gas-a-Just control
  • Stock-height fitment: designed for factory-height front suspension
  • Application-specific sizing: separate early and late shock configurations match the supported Toyota Pickup 2WD applications
  • Position: front left or right
  • Quantity choice: order one shock or a matching front pair
  • Mounting layout: upper stud with lower cross-pin mounting

Which Front Shock Should You Buy?

KYB Excel-G — Best for Factory-Style Ride Comfort

Choose Excel-G for a stock daily driver when predictable road manners and original-equipment-style control are the priority.

KYB Gas-a-Just — Best for Firmer Control

Choose Gas-a-Just when you prefer quicker response, added stability, or firmer damping for working loads, towing, or heavier wheels and tires.

Our Recommendation: Excel-G is the best all-around choice for a stock daily driver. Gas-a-Just is the better choice when you want a noticeably firmer, more responsive feel.
