Overview
The Injen IS Series Short Ram Air Intake System is a direct-fit performance intake for the 1984–1987 Toyota Corolla Sport GT-S AE86 with the fuel-injected 1.6L engine. It replaces the restrictive factory intake path with a smooth mandrel-bent aluminum tube and high-flow dry air filter to improve airflow into the engine.
The system delivers gains of up to 7 horsepower and 5 lb-ft of torque while maintaining proper air/fuel ratios without requiring additional engine tuning. Its polished aluminum finish also gives the AE86 engine bay a clean performance-oriented appearance, while the short-ram design produces a more aggressive induction sound under throttle.

Intake Design & Performance
The mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube provides a smoother path for incoming air than the factory intake system. Its consistent internal diameter helps reduce unnecessary restriction and supports increased airflow into the 1.6L engine.
A serviceable dry air filter provides increased filter surface area without requiring filter oil. The intake is designed to provide its performance gains while maintaining proper air/fuel ratios, allowing installation without additional tuning.
