EBC Yellowstuff Front Brake Pads

For 1984–1995 Toyota 4Runner 4WD

Overview

The EBC Yellowstuff Front Brake Pads are a high-friction performance upgrade for 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Toyota 4Runner 4WD models. Designed for stronger braking response and increased resistance to fade as temperatures rise, Yellowstuff is well suited to demanding street driving, steep grades, off-road use, towing, larger tires, and repeated heavy braking.

The performance-oriented compound provides strong braking response from cold while remaining suitable for regular road use. Fully shimmed, slotted, and chamfered construction helps support smooth operation, while EBC Brake-In coating assists with initial pad bedding.

Toyota used several front brake configurations throughout the 1984–1995 4Runner production range. Select the correct pad configuration based on model year, engine, and production date before ordering.

Key Features

  • High-friction Yellowstuff performance compound
  • Strong braking response from cold
  • Increased resistance to fade during repeated high-temperature braking
  • Suitable for demanding street, off-road, towing, and truck/SUV use
  • Fully shimmed, slotted, and chamfered construction
  • Nucap NRS hook technology mechanically secures the friction material to the backing plate
  • Brake-In surface coating assists the initial bedding process
  • Vehicle-specific direct-fit front brake applications
  • Performance-focused alternative to conventional replacement brake pads

Braking Performance

Yellowstuff is intended for drivers who prioritize braking response and heat resistance over minimum brake dust. The high-friction compound provides a more aggressive braking feel than a conventional street replacement pad while maintaining braking performance as temperatures increase during repeated stops.

This makes Yellowstuff particularly useful for 4Runners driven on steep grades, equipped with larger tires, carrying additional weight, or subjected to demanding off-road and high-heat driving conditions.

Yellowstuff is not primarily a low-dust comfort pad. For stock daily-driven vehicles where minimum dust and maximum everyday refinement are the priorities, a ceramic or more street-oriented pad may be preferable.
