Overview

The DFC OE Replacement Rear Brake Wheel Cylinder is an OE-style hydraulic replacement for the rear drum brake system used on 1990–1995 2nd Gen Toyota 4Runner 2WD models equipped with either the 22RE or 3VZ-E engine.

Toyota changed the rear wheel-cylinder configuration during the 1991 production year. Vehicles produced through May 1991 use the early 22.23 mm / 7/8-inch bore configuration, while vehicles produced from June 1991 through 1995 use the later 23.83 mm / approximately 15/16-inch bore configuration.

Production date—not engine—determines the correct wheel cylinder. Both 22RE and 3VZ-E 2WD 4Runners use the same early/late production-date split.
