DENSO Double Platinum / Iridium TT Spark Plug Set

For 1987–1991 Toyota Corolla AE92 coupe equipped with the supercharged 4A-GZE engine.

Overview

Refresh the spark plugs on your 1987–1991 Japanese-market Toyota Corolla Levin or Sprinter Trueno GT-Z AE92 coupe with the supercharged 4A-GZE engine. Each set supplies four matching DENSO spark plugs. Choose Double Platinum or Iridium TT for the same factory-engine application.

DENSO supplied original-equipment spark plugs for this Japanese 4A-GZE application. Both plug types are factory pre-gapped — no gap adjustment required for the original supercharged 4A-GZE configuration. Double Platinum retains original-style platinum construction; Iridium TT uses a fine iridium center electrode and platinum ground tip.

Key Features

  • Four matching spark plugs for one complete engine service set
  • Double Platinum: platinum on both electrodes for original-style replacement
  • Iridium TT: fine iridium center electrode and platinum ground tip
  • Factory pre-gapped: Double Platinum 0.8 mm; Iridium TT 1.0 mm
  • Gasket seat and solid terminal
  • 14 mm thread / 19 mm reach / 16 mm hex

Vehicle Fitment

Toyota Corolla — AE92 Coupe

  • 1987–1991: Levin / Trueno GT-Z (Japanese-Market) / 4A-GZE supercharged

Fitment Notes

  • For the supercharged 4A-GZE, not naturally aspirated SR5 or GT-S engines.
  • Original 4A-GZE plug gap: 0.8 mm. Double Platinum arrives preset to 0.8 mm; Iridium TT arrives preset to 1.0 mm.
  • Both plug types cover the same listed factory GT-Z application; no year-range choice is needed.
  • Engine swaps, changed cylinder heads, turbo conversions and altered boost or ignition configurations are outside this factory-engine fitment.

Which Spark Plug Should You Buy?

Double Platinum — Best for Original-Style Restoration

Choose Double Platinum if retaining the original plug design is your priority, because it uses platinum on both electrodes. It covers the same factory engine and years as Iridium TT.

Iridium TT — Best for Everyday Ignition Maintenance

Choose Iridium TT for routine spark-plug replacement. Its fine iridium center electrode and platinum ground tip provide an alternative to the original-style platinum design, not a promised power upgrade.

Our Recommendation: Choose Double Platinum for original-style restoration, or Iridium TT for its fine-wire electrode design. Neither is presented as a power upgrade.
