Overview

DENSO was an original-equipment A/C supplier to Toyota for this application, making this DENSO-branded receiver drier an OE-manufacturer replacement built around the same factory engineering pedigree as the original component.

The receiver drier helps remove moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant circuit while supporting stable refrigerant flow. It is especially appropriate during compressor replacement, major A/C system service, or an R12-to-R134a conversion where the system has been opened.

Fitment Notes

• Recommended during compressor replacement or major A/C system service when the refrigerant circuit has been opened.
• Toyota's R12-to-R134a retrofit procedure specifies this receiver-drier family for 1990–1993 4Runner and 1989–1994 Pickup applications.
• For R134a conversion work, the receiver drier is only one part of the retrofit. Follow the applicable Toyota/DENSO procedure for service-port fittings, O-rings, compressor oil, evacuation, and refrigerant charge.
• 1989 4Runner retrofit applications use a different receiver-drier specification and are intentionally excluded from the retrofit fitment range above.
• 1994 Pickup fitment applies to the original R12 configuration / corresponding retrofit application; later factory R134a configurations use different A/C service components.
