For 1985–1989 Toyota MR2 AW11 and 1988–1989 Toyota Corolla AE92 coupe equipped with naturally aspirated 4A-GE engines and original distributor-and-coil ignition.

Overview

This DENSO First Time Fit ignition wire set replaces the high-voltage leads between the distributor, spark plugs and ignition coil on 1985–1989 U.S.-market MR2 AW11 and 1988–1989 U.S.-market Corolla AE92 GT-S with the naturally aspirated 4A-GE and original distributor-and-coil ignition. Supercharged 4A-GZE, later GT-S and Japanese-market AE92 applications are not covered.

Each lead is supplied pre-cut to length with terminals and boots already fitted. The assembled design matches the original ignition-wire connections.

Fitment Notes

• AE92 coverage is the early U.S.-market GT-S only. Original August 1987–August 1989 production ignition-wire arrangement; 1990–1991 GT-S, 4A-F / 4A-FE and Japanese-market applications are not included.
• Alternative coil leads are supplied for the listed original routing arrangements. Select the lead matching the vehicle's original coil location and connections; both coil leads are not used together.
• Does not fit supercharged 4A-GZE models.
• Engine swaps, altered distributors or coils, and coil-on-plug conversions require ignition-specific wire selection.

For the listed AW11 application, if the spark plugs are also due for replacement, the DENSO Spark Plug Set for Toyota MR2 AW11 provides a separate four-plug service option. Spark plugs are not included with this wire set. The linked plug listing is not an AE92 fitment recommendation.
