Overview

The CUSCO Type OS Rear Strut Bar is a chassis reinforcement upgrade for the Toyota AE86, designed to reduce flex across the rear of the chassis and help the suspension mounting structure remain more stable under cornering loads.

This listing is available in two configurations. The 2-point version uses the Type OS rear bar to brace the left and right sides of the rear chassis. The 3-point version includes that same Type OS bar plus the Type OS-T third-point reinforcement, adding diagonal braces from the main rear bar to a central chassis-floor mounting point.

Both configurations use CUSCO's lightweight polished aluminum oval-shaft construction with blue steel mounting brackets. The 3-point setup provides additional triangulation for customers looking for a more extensively reinforced rear chassis.

2-Point vs. 3-Point Design

The 2-point configuration connects the left and right rear mounting areas with a single Type OS oval aluminum shaft. This provides a direct reinforcement path across the rear of the chassis while keeping the design relatively simple and lightweight.

The 3-point configuration begins with the same 2-point rear strut bar and adds the Type OS-T reinforcement system. Two additional diagonal braces extend downward to a central chassis-floor mount, forming a triangulated structure.

The third-point reinforcement cannot be installed by itself. The 3-point option in this listing includes both the primary rear Type OS strut bar and the matching third-point assembly.
