CUSCO Formula Link Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arms
For 1983–1987 Toyota Corolla Levin / Sprinter Trueno AE86 & 1985–1987 Toyota Corolla Sport GT-S
Overview
The CUSCO Formula Link Rear Upper Control Arm Set is a performance-oriented replacement for the factory upper links in the AE86 rear four-link suspension. The adjustable design allows rear suspension geometry to be fine-tuned while replacing compliant factory-style bushings with pillowball rod ends for more direct axle control.
Each steel link uses rod-end pillowballs at both ends and provides a +20 mm to −10 mm adjustment range. This allows the effective upper-link length to be changed for suspension setup and rear pinion-angle correction, particularly on lowered or competition-focused AE86 builds.
The kit replaces both factory rear upper links and is designed as a bolt-on installation using the original mounting locations.
Key Features

- Designed for the AE86 rear four-link suspension
- +20 mm to −10 mm length adjustment range
- Pillowball rod ends at both ends of each link
- Steel construction
- Replaces both factory rear upper control arms
- Reduced bushing compliance for more direct rear axle response
- Allows rear suspension geometry and pinion angle to be fine-tuned
- Direct bolt-on replacement design
- Includes a matched left-and-right pair
Rear Suspension Adjustment
The AE86 uses upper and lower links to locate the solid rear axle. Changing the effective length of the upper links allows the relationship between the axle housing and chassis to be adjusted.
The Formula Link design provides significantly more adjustment than a fixed-length factory-style control arm while its pillowball mounting points reduce movement associated with conventional rubber bushings. This makes the setup particularly suitable for lowered, grip, circuit, touge, and drift-oriented vehicles where consistent rear suspension response is important.
Because link length affects rear suspension geometry and pinion angle, the final setting should be established according to the vehicle's ride height and overall suspension configuration.
