Overview

The ARB Differential Breather Kit relocates drivetrain breathers to a higher central location, helping reduce the risk of water, mud, dust, and other contaminants entering differentials, transmissions, and transfer cases during off-road use and water crossings.

Its anodized billet-aluminum manifold uses a high-flow, zero-backpressure, zero-vacuum design and supports up to four breather lines. The supplied tubing and fittings are enough to connect at least two drivetrain assemblies, with additional tubing and fittings available when four connections are needed.

Drivetrain Breather Design

Drivetrain housings build and release pressure as operating temperatures change. Relocating the breather outlets higher on the vehicle allows the connected assemblies to vent through one filtered manifold rather than relying on low-mounted factory breathers.

The system uses 8 mm breather tubing, which is especially useful in 4WD applications where steep or off-camber operation can allow gear oil to enter a breather line and restrict airflow.

All applications require: 4WD and a drivetrain breather connection that can be connected or adapted to the ARB system.

• Factory breather connection types vary by drivetrain component. Additional adapters may be required when the original fitting differs from the supplied connections.
• Mount the manifold and filter above expected water levels in a protected location.
• Route breather tubing away from exhaust components, radiators, moving parts, and other high-heat areas.
• Modified axles, transmission swaps, and transfer-case conversions may require different fittings or routing.
