Overview
The APEXi Power Intake Kit is a vehicle-specific performance air intake system for the JDM Toyota AE86 equipped with the 1.6L 4A-GE engine. It replaces the factory air-cleaner assembly with a free-flowing dry filter, intake pipe, adapter, hoses, brackets, and installation hardware.
Its dual-funnel filter design is engineered to smooth incoming airflow while reducing intake restriction. A molded upper and lower funnel directs air toward the intake tract without relying on an oiled filter element, making the system well suited to airflow-meter-equipped applications.
This application is intended for JDM Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno AE86 models with the original-style 4A-GE intake configuration.

Dual-Funnel Dry-Filter Design
The Power Intake uses an upper primary funnel to direct incoming air into the lower funnel rather than allowing the center area of the filter to contribute little to airflow. This arrangement is designed to increase air velocity while maintaining a smoother path toward the intake pipe.
The lower funnel uses a 14-degree curvature and sits close to the base of the filter to reduce unnecessary restriction and dead areas. Layered dry-density fiber media provides filtration without the oil used by many reusable wet-type filters.
Installation Requirements
Installation replaces the original air-cleaner box and associated intake ducting while retaining several factory components.
The factory air-control valve and specified original vacuum hoses are reused during installation. The supplied brackets, intake adapter, intake pipe, rubber hoses, clamps, and hardware support the vehicle-specific installation.
The intake should be positioned with adequate clearance from the hood and surrounding engine-bay components before all mounting hardware is fully tightened.
