For 1988–1995 Toyota 4Runner and Toyota Pickup with 3VZ-E

Overview

This OE-manufacturer replacement from AISIN regulates coolant flow through the radiator as the engine warms up. It retains the original-equipment temperature rating for the Toyota 3VZ-E cooling system.

The bottom-bypass design combines the main thermostat valve with a lower bypass valve. A matching AISIN thermostat gasket is available with the thermostat as an optional configuration for cooling-system service.

Fitment Notes

  • U.S.-market applications. For automatic and manual transmission applications; thermostat selection does not change between the supported 2WD and 4WD configurations.
  • Does not fit 22R, 22RE, or 22R-TE applications.
  • For an engine-swapped vehicle, select the thermostat for the installed engine and water-inlet assembly rather than chassis year alone.
  • Install with a new thermostat gasket and position the jiggle valve upward in the water inlet.
