AISIN 82°C Coolant Thermostat

For 1984–1989 Toyota MR2 AW11 and 1987–1991 Toyota Corolla AE92 coupe.

Overview

This AISIN thermostat uses an 82°C / 180°F opening temperature in the original cooling systems of the 1984–1989 Toyota MR2 AW11 and 1987–1991 Toyota Corolla AE92 coupe. Its conventional wax-pellet valve regulates coolant circulation as the engine warms up, retaining the factory opening temperature rather than converting to a low-temperature thermostat.

The with-seal option adds the AISIN thermostat ring used by these MR2 and Corolla applications. It fits around the thermostat and is different from the flat housing gasket required by the AE86.

Fitment Notes

  • One new thermostat seal is required for installation. Choose the with-seal option or supply the correct seal separately when purchasing Thermostat Only.
  • Both options fit the factory engine and thermostat-housing combinations above. Engine swaps or modified housings require separate fitment confirmation.
  • The included AW11 / AE92 ring does not fit the AE86 thermostat housing.
