Timken Rear Differential Carrier Bearing
For 1983–1987 Toyota Corolla AE86 Trueno / Levin and 1985–1987 U.S.-Market Corolla Sport AE86 (GT-S) with the original 6.7-inch rear differential
Overview
This Timken tapered roller bearing and outer race support the rear differential case in the original 6.7-inch axle. Coverage includes 1983–1987 Japanese-market AE86 Trueno / Levin with 4A-GEU engines and 1985–1987 U.S.-Market Corolla GT-S with the original 4A-GE drivetrain.
The same bearing fits the left or right differential-case position. Choose a Single for one position or a Pair for both. This is a carrier-bearing service part, not a pinion bearing, axle-shaft bearing or complete differential overhaul kit.
Key Features
- Complete bearing and race: each assembly includes the tapered roller cone and its matching outer cup.
- Original differential fit: for the specified factory 6.7-inch open and factory limited-slip applications.
- Single or Pair: replace one carrier-bearing position or obtain both matching assemblies in one purchase.
Vehicle Fitment
Original 6.7-inch rear differential required.
Toyota Corolla — AE86
- 1983–1987: Trueno (JDM) / 4A-GEU / GT, GT APEX or GTV
- 1983–1987: Levin (JDM) / 4A-GEU / GT, GT APEX or GTV
- 1985–1987: GT-S (U.S.-Market) / 4A-GE
Fitment Notes
- Original rear differential cases only. U.S.-Market GT-S coverage includes the original open or factory limited-slip differential. Japanese-market coverage includes the original open case and factory limited-slip cases on the applicable manual GT APEX / GTV configurations; this does not imply factory limited-slip availability on every trim or transmission.
- Does not fit the original DX / SR5 6.38-inch differential. Engine or chassis identity alone does not establish fit after an axle or differential swap.
- Aftermarket limited-slip units, axle conversions and modified cases are not covered.
- Required service items are not included and must be purchased separately: one new differential-carrier gasket, new axle-retaining self-locking nuts (four per side, eight for both sides), suitable gasket sealant, and appropriate differential gear oil (1.3 L nominal service capacity). Factory limited-slip applications require suitable limited-slip gear oil. Axle-end and retainer sealing gaskets must match the vehicle's disc- or drum-brake axle configuration and the service work being performed.
