Overview

This Techna-Fit stainless steel braided kit replaces the flexible brake hoses on 1985–1987 Toyota Corolla AE86 models equipped with factory rear disc brakes. The complete five-hose kit covers the front and rear brakes and works with both the early seven-hose arrangement and the later five-hose arrangement.

Have an early car built before May 1985? This kit still fits the factory rear-disc configuration. The kit’s left front hose replaces both shorter factory hoses at the left front wheel, and the right front hose replaces both shorter factory hoses at the right front wheel. This reduces the front hose count from four to two; with three rear hoses, the complete system uses five flexible hoses. You do not need a seven-piece hose kit simply because your car originally had seven hoses.

The PTFE-lined hoses have a clear protective outer coating.

Fitment Notes

• Early vs. late hose layout: Cars built before the May 1985 change may have seven flexible brake hoses: two at each front wheel and three at the rear. This kit supplies one longer hose per front wheel and three rear hoses, replacing that arrangement with five hoses total.
• Full front-and-rear kit: “Rear disc brakes” identifies the vehicle’s brake configuration; this is not a rear-only hose kit.
• Factory calipers and hose connections are required for the stated fitment. Confirm the hose routing and secure the front hoses at the strut mounting points during installation. Check clearance throughout steering and suspension travel.
• Not for SR5 or other rear-drum configurations, or AE85 models.
