Restore secure front sway bar mounting and more consistent suspension response with the Prothane Polyurethane Front Sway Bar Bushing Kit. Designed to replace aging factory rubber frame-mount bushings, these polyurethane bushings reduce unwanted movement between the front sway bar and chassis while retaining the factory-style mounting arrangement.

Two diameters are available for the AE86 application: 21mm for the SR5 and 22mm for the GT-S. Because many AE86s have received replacement or aftermarket sway bars over the years, measure the actual front sway bar diameter before ordering, even when the original trim is known.

Prothane polyurethane provides a firmer connection than conventional rubber and resists the deformation and deterioration commonly associated with older factory bushings. The result is more consistent sway bar operation and improved front suspension response without replacing the sway bar itself.

21mm vs. 22mm Front Sway Bar Fitment

The bushing inside diameter must match the outside diameter of the front sway bar.

For the documented factory AE86 applications:

• 21mm – SR5

• 22mm – GT-S

Use digital or vernier calipers to measure a clean, straight section of the sway bar before ordering. Avoid measuring over bends, heavy paint, corrosion, mounting areas, or damaged sections.

Vehicles with replacement or aftermarket sway bars may no longer use the original diameter associated with their trim level, so the physical measurement should be used as the final size confirmation.
