Choose a cupholder by the dashboard opening it uses, not just the Toyota model name. The ashtray and lower radio pocket are different mounting locations, and the products below cover different year ranges.

Photos to compare with your own dashboard
- Photograph the original ashtray opening or the lower radio pocket, including the mounting area.
- For a radio-bezel holder, confirm a single-DIN radio with the lower pocket still present; a double-DIN conversion changes that space.
- Check the shifter through its full movement with the vehicle safely parked. Worn bushings and aftermarket shifters can affect clearance.
- Compare the visible faceplate shape and surrounding trim with the linked product photos.
Questions before ordering
Does one cupholder fit every Pickup and 4Runner?
No. Match the listed years and mounting location. A 1979–1983 Pickup ashtray holder is a different application from the 1984–1988 Pickup designs and the later storage-tray version.
Does the radio-bezel holder replace the ashtray?
No. It uses the lower radio pocket on a single-DIN dashboard. The sliding ashtray design uses the ashtray location instead.
Are the opening measurements interchangeable?
No. The radio-bezel product lists a maximum supported container diameter of 2.7 inches; the sliding ashtray product lists a 2.8-inch opening, and the later tray lists a 3-inch opening. These are catalog specifications, not new measurements made for this guide.
