Overview
The Total Chaos Weld-On Shackle Pivot Gusset Kit reinforces the rear shackle mounting area on Toyota 4WD leaf-spring suspension systems using 9-inch or 12-inch aftermarket shackles.
Extended shackles increase leverage at the frame pivot, placing additional stress on the factory mounting area during articulation, hard suspension cycling, and aggressive off-road use. These gussets strengthen the frame around the shackle pivot to help reduce flex, deformation, cracking, and pivot-hole elongation.
Each gusset is manufactured from laser-cut 10-gauge steel and comes pre-bent and notched to simplify fabrication. Four gussets are included, providing enough reinforcement for one vehicle.

Shackle Pivot Reinforcement
Longer shackles increase the mechanical leverage applied to the frame-mounted shackle pivot. Under heavy suspension loads, this additional leverage can fatigue or deform the surrounding frame structure.
The gussets reinforce the mounting area above and below the frame rail, creating a stronger structure around the shackle pivot. This added support is especially beneficial on vehicles used for aggressive off-road driving, increased articulation, and custom long-travel rear suspension setups.
