Overview
The Total Chaos Weld-On Rear Axle Shock Mounts are heavy-duty lower shock mounting brackets designed for 1986–1995 Toyota 4Runner and Pickup 4WD rear axle applications.
Constructed from laser-cut 1/4-inch steel, each mount is pre-welded with integrated gussets to reinforce the lower shock attachment point and help protect the shock rod end during aggressive off-road use. The mounts reposition the lower shock eyelet approximately 7 inches above the axle housing, allowing improved shock placement for custom and long-travel rear suspension systems.
These mounts are designed around 3-inch-diameter axle housings and require welding for installation. They can be modified by grinding to accommodate larger axle housings when required.

Reinforced Rear Shock Mounting
Factory-style lower shock mounts can leave the shock attachment point vulnerable during aggressive off-road use. These reinforced mounts provide a stronger mounting structure while repositioning the shock for custom suspension geometry.
Each bracket incorporates welded gussets and a heavy 1/4-inch steel construction. The raised lower mounting position can provide additional clearance around the axle and allows the shock angle to be configured for performance-oriented rear suspension systems.
Because shock angle, travel, and mounting position affect suspension operation, final placement should be determined as part of the complete rear suspension setup before welding.
