Rear Steel Tube Bumper

For 1984–1989 Toyota 4Runner

Overview

The Rear Steel Tube Bumper is a bolt-on rear bumper designed for 1st Gen Toyota 4Runners, providing increased rear clearance and a more trail-focused design while following the factory body lines.

Constructed from .120-inch wall DOM steel tubing with 3/8-inch steel mounting and structural components, the bumper uses the factory chassis mounting locations and requires no cutting, drilling, or welding. The installation is fully reversible, making it suitable for both off-road builds and 4Runners where permanent chassis modification is not desired.

A modular chassis mount system allows the bumper to be ordered for vehicles with no body lift or 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-inch body lifts. The bumper also retains important factory features including the OEM exhaust hanger location and underbody spare tire carrier.

Key Features

  • Rear tube bumper designed specifically for the 1st Gen Toyota 4Runner
  • .120-inch wall DOM steel tubing
  • 3/8-inch thick steel chassis mounts and structural components
  • Laser-cut and precision-welded construction
  • Raw steel finish ready for paint or powder coat
  • Fully bolt-on installation using factory mounting locations
  • No cutting, drilling, or welding required
  • Modular chassis mounts available for 0- to 5-inch body lift configurations
  • Improved rear clearance and departure angle
  • Retains OEM exhaust hanger location and underbody spare tire carrier
  • Reinforced recovery points sized for 3/4-inch shackles
  • Optional 2-inch accessory receiver

Modular Chassis Mount Design

The bumper uses a modular mounting system that allows the chassis mounts to be configured separately from the main bumper assembly. This keeps the bumper positioned appropriately for different body heights without requiring replacement of the complete bumper.

Choose the chassis mount configuration that matches your vehicle's body lift: None, 1 inch, 2 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches, or 5 inches.

Diagonal bracing extends toward the outer tube structure to add support while retaining a bolt-on installation and avoiding permanent chassis modification.
