Overview
The Prothane Polyurethane Front Control Arm Bushing Kit replaces worn factory rubber upper and lower control arm bushings on 1990–1995 2nd Gen Toyota 4Runner 2WD models. Firmer polyurethane construction helps reduce unwanted control arm movement and maintain more consistent front suspension geometry, steering response, and alignment.
One kit services both the driver and passenger sides and includes eight application-specific polyurethane control arm bushings plus installation grease. Polyurethane is firmer than the original rubber, providing increased resistance to deformation and wear while potentially transmitting slightly more noise, vibration, and harshness.
Available in black or red polyurethane, both colors use the same durometer and provide the same intended suspension performance.

Polyurethane Control Arm Design
Factory rubber control arm bushings repeatedly flex as the suspension moves. As the rubber ages, it can soften, crack, or sag around the mounting points, allowing additional control arm movement and less consistent wheel alignment.
Polyurethane provides a firmer suspension pivot while retaining the flexibility required for normal control arm movement. Proper lubrication is important during installation, and the supplied polyurethane grease should be applied thoroughly to the required bushing contact surfaces to minimize friction and squeaking.
