Overview
The Prothane Polyurethane Body Mount Bushing Kit replaces the aging factory rubber body-to-frame mounts on 1979–1988 Toyota Pickup 4WD models. The complete kit includes the polyurethane body and radiator-support mounts, sleeves, and washers required for the supported factory mounting locations.
Polyurethane provides greater resistance to deterioration from age, road grime, moisture, and UV exposure than conventional rubber while maintaining the resilience needed for a body-mount application. Replacing worn mounts helps restore consistent body-to-frame support and reduce unwanted movement caused by compressed or deteriorated factory bushings.
The kit is available in black or red polyurethane. Both colors use the same durometer and provide the same functional performance; the color selection is primarily cosmetic.

Polyurethane Body Mount Design
Factory rubber body mounts can compress, crack, and deteriorate as they age. Once worn, they allow increased movement between the cab and frame and can affect the support provided at the original mounting points.
Prothane's polyurethane mounts provide a firmer and more durable replacement while retaining enough resilience for body-to-frame isolation. Because these mounts primarily operate under compression rather than rotational movement, they do not require the lubrication commonly associated with polyurethane suspension pivot bushings.
