Overview
The Longfield 30-Spline Gun-Drilled Birfield & Axle Super Set is a heavy-duty front axle upgrade for Toyota solid front axle applications. The set combines 30-spline Longfield birfields with 4340 chromoly axle shafts, upgraded hub components, and multiple axle-width configurations.
The birfields feature forged 4340 chromoly housings, dual heat-treated 4340 chromoly internals, and a gun-drilled grease passage that allows lubricant to reach the internal components through an M8 grease fitting at the end of the stub shaft. A Machined Spline Saver reduces stress concentration near the stub-shaft splines.
Standard-width, +3-inch, and +5-inch configurations are available for factory Toyota and Rock Assault solid axle setups.

Gun-Drilled Birfield Design
The gun-drilled design creates a grease passage through the center of the birfield. Grease can be supplied through the M8 fitting at the end of the stub shaft, allowing the birfield internals to be serviced without disassembling the axle simply to access the joint.
The Machined Spline Saver uses a shallow relief near the stub-shaft splines to reduce stress concentration at the spline groove, a common high-load area on birfield stub shafts.
