Overview
The Bolt-On Hood Strut Kit replaces the factory hood prop rod with a gas-strut-assisted support system for 1990–1995 Toyota 4Runner and 1989–1995 Toyota Pickup models.
The dual-strut design provides smooth, controlled hood operation and securely supports the hood at full extension, making engine-bay access easier during maintenance or inspection. Once installed, the hood can be opened and closed with one hand without positioning the original prop rod.
Installation is 100% bolt-on using factory mounting locations. No drilling, cutting, or welding is required, allowing the system to be removed later without permanently modifying the vehicle.

Bolt-On Hood Support Design
Two gas struts support the hood from both sides, providing balanced assistance as the hood is opened and stable support when fully raised.
The kit uses heavy-gauge steel brackets with a black powder-coated finish and SlotLOK™ hood nut plates to establish secure mounting points without altering the factory sheet metal. The gas struts feature an enameled gloss-black finish for a clean appearance within the engine bay.
Because the system installs through existing mounting locations, it is a suitable upgrade for vehicles where preserving the original body and hood is important.
