Overview
The Bolt-On Hood Strut Kit replaces the factory hood prop rod with a dual gas-strut system for smoother, one-handed hood operation on 1st Gen Toyota 4Runners and 2nd Gen Toyota Pickups.
Two gas struts assist with raising the hood and hold it securely in the fully open position, improving engine-bay access while eliminating the need to manually position the original prop rod. The system uses vehicle-specific brackets and SlotLOK™ hood nut plates for a completely bolt-on installation.
No drilling, cutting, or welding is required. The kit installs using factory mounting locations and can be removed later without permanent vehicle modification.

Bolt-On Mounting Design
The hood strut system uses factory mounting locations along with purpose-built steel brackets and SlotLOK™ hood nut plates, allowing the kit to be installed without permanently modifying the hood or body.
Once installed, the dual gas struts provide assisted lifting and controlled hood movement while maintaining a clean engine-bay appearance. The reversible design also allows the original configuration to be restored later if desired.
