DFC OE Front Rotor 2WD 1/2-Ton & 3/4-Ton
For 1989–1995 Toyota Pickup RWD / 2WD – 1/2-Ton & 3/4-Ton Models
Overview
The Dynamic Friction Company (DFC) OE Replacement Front Brake Rotor is a direct-fit replacement for compatible 1989–1995 Toyota Pickup RWD / 2WD front brake applications.
Toyota used two different front brake systems across these trucks, and the correct rotor cannot reliably be determined by trim level alone. This listing gives you a choice between the 248 mm FS17 / 17S brake system and the 253 mm F18 / F-18Q brake system.
Before ordering, check the casting identification on the existing front brake caliper. If the marking cannot be found, measuring the outside diameter of the existing rotor provides a second way to identify the correct application.
Key Features
- Direct-fit front brake rotor for compatible 1989–1995 Toyota Pickup 2WD
- Two application-specific front brake systems available
- 248 mm rotor for FS17 / 17S brake systems
- 253 mm rotor for F18 / F-18Q brake systems
- Both applications use approximately 22 mm new rotor thickness
- G3000/G11H18 iron casting
- CNC-machined braking surfaces
- Non-directional surface finish
- OE-style form, fit, and function
- Available individually or as a pair
How to Identify Your Front Brake Type
248 mm / FS17 Brake System
Select this option if the existing front caliper is marked:
- 17S
- FS17
The corresponding rotor measures approximately 248 mm in outside diameter.
253 mm / F18 Brake System
Select this option if the existing front caliper is marked:
- F18
- F-18Q
The corresponding rotor measures approximately 253 mm in outside diameter.
Caliper identification is the preferred method. If the casting mark is difficult to locate or read, measure the outside diameter of the existing front brake rotor.
Rotor thickness does not provide a useful way to distinguish the two systems because both use approximately 22 mm-thick rotors when new.
Vehicle Fitment
Toyota Pickup
- 1989–1995 Toyota Pickup – 3rd Generation – RWD / 2WD – Front
- Fits supported 1/2-ton and 3/4-ton front brake configurations
- Correct rotor depends on the factory front brake system or currently installed brake components
Fitment Notes
- Front application only
- RWD / 2WD models only
- Does not fit 4WD front brake applications
- Two different front brake systems were used during the 1989–1995 model range
- Do not select the rotor based on Base, DLX, or SR5 trim alone
- Verify the existing caliper casting identification before ordering
- If the caliper marking cannot be identified, measure the existing rotor outside diameter
- 17S / FS17 = approximately 248 mm rotor
- F18 / F-18Q = approximately 253 mm rotor
- Both versions are approximately 22 mm thick when new, so thickness should not be used to distinguish them
- Does not replace heavy-duty 1-ton-specific brake applications
- Available individually or as a pair
- Select a pair when replacing both front brake rotors
