Overview
The CSF Heavy-Duty 3-Row All-Metal Radiator is an upgraded cooling solution for 1989–1995 3rd Gen Toyota Pickup 2WD models. Engine-specific configurations are available for the 2.4L 22R / 22RE 4-cylinder and 3.0L 3VZ-E V6 applications.
Both configurations use a three-row copper core with brass tanks, providing durable all-metal construction and additional cooling capacity compared with the common factory-style 2-row radiator. The 3-row design—often referred to as a 3-core radiator—is well suited to stock trucks, restorations, hot climates, towing, hauling, modified vehicles, and older Toyotas that can benefit from additional cooling reserve.
This is a heavy-duty 3-row upgrade rather than an exact stock-replacement radiator. When replacing the radiator on a classic Toyota Pickup or 4Runner, Preserve Rad recommends stepping up to a quality 3-row configuration when available. Because the larger core does not duplicate every original radiator and fan-shroud configuration exactly, minor installation adjustments may occasionally be required.

Heavy-Duty 3-Row Upgrade
Many Toyota Pickups from this era were equipped with thinner 2-row radiator configurations from the factory. A properly functioning 2-row radiator can adequately cool a stock truck under normal conditions, but moving to a heavy-duty 3-row radiator provides additional cooling surface and greater thermal reserve.

For owners already replacing an aging radiator, Preserve Rad recommends stepping up to the 3-row configuration rather than installing another basic 2-row replacement when the appropriate heavy-duty application is available.
This recommendation applies even to many otherwise stock Toyota Pickups and 4Runners. The goal is to improve cooling capacity while the radiator is already being replaced rather than simply reproducing the minimum original cooling configuration.
Because this is a heavy-duty upgrade rather than an exact reproduction of every original radiator, additional installation work may sometimes be necessary.
Material & Construction
Both configurations use traditional copper-and-brass construction with single-piece brass tanks, a three-row copper core, coated steel side channels, and reinforced hose connections.
Copper/brass construction is particularly attractive for long-term ownership of a classic Toyota because a properly equipped radiator shop can often solder, repair, or recore the radiator rather than requiring complete replacement after minor damage.
The 2.4L and 3.0L applications use different core dimensions and transmission-cooler sizes, so customers should select the configuration matching their engine.
Automatic models use the integrated transmission cooler, while manual-transmission trucks leave the cooler connections unused.

Choose the Koyorad HH if you have a naturally aspirated 22R or 22RE with a manual transmission and specifically want a lightweight all-aluminum performance radiator.
The Koyorad is the more specialized choice for an enthusiast or performance-focused build where aluminum construction, reduced weight, and a performance-oriented cooling system are priorities.
The Koyorad HH is not the appropriate alternative for a 3VZ-E V6 or automatic-transmission truck.
It is also important not to judge the two radiators solely by row count. The CSF uses a traditional three-row copper/brass design, while the Koyorad uses a modern performance-oriented aluminum core. Their construction methods are fundamentally different.
For the majority of stock, restored, daily-driven, towing, or utility-oriented Toyota Pickups, choose the CSF 3-Row. For a naturally aspirated 22R/22RE manual truck where reduced weight and an all-aluminum performance radiator are priorities, choose the Koyorad HH.
